Clark Design Parntership (CDP): About Us

Clark Design Partnership Ltd (CDP Architecture) was formed in 1976 by Mike Clark who after working with architectural practices in Cheltenham, Worcester, Stratford Upon Avon and Bournemouth was driven by the desire to design exciting and imaginative buildings at a time when it seemed the UK was in a design wilderness. As teh practice expanded and purchased its own studio in Swanage, larger clients including The National Trust, British Petroleum and Key Industrial Equipment Ltd joined our client list.

Our commitment to design excellence has resulted in Design awards and more importantly many repeat commissions from enthusiastic clients. Recent commissions have seen us working on projects in Iraq and New Zealand.

We have for the last 10 years specialised in domestic architecture, moving in 2004 to our open plan studio in Canford Cliffs, Poole, in order to be closer to our clients and main area of work. CDP utilises Apple Computers with state of the art CAD programs to create 2D and 3D visuals to help the client understand the building that is being created for them. We never-the-less still find that hand drawing and model making are important tools in the design process.

We work with a group of dedicated professionals including, Planning Consultants, Structural Engineers, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Planning Supervisors, surveyors, Landscape Architects, Arboricultural Consultants and Architectural Visualisation Specialists, to provide a complete service for our clients.

Design Philosophy

To work in architecture you have to be driven. It is a passion that is all enveloping, the imagination never sleeps. We are the interface between dreams and reality. What we create has to both captivate and to work, and to work within limitations of time, cost and practicality.
